With a painter's eye and a designer's precision, Deborah Rogers has built a career advancing authentic expression in the arts.

Deborah Rogers began her creative journey as a painter, earning a BFA from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1982. Her deep grounding in color and composition naturally led her to the world of interior design. After returning to school at the University of Michigan for interior design studies, she transitioned into the field with ease. Over the next 28 years, she built a thriving design business, bringing her painter’s sensibility to residential and commercial spaces.
In 1985, Deborah moved to Chicago, a decision that would shape both her personal and professional life. She rented a painting studio at 2846 W North Avenue, where she would eventually establish her long-term creative base. It was also there that she met her future husband, the painter Jonathan D. Wallace. Chicago became the city where her work flourished, and her creative and personal lives fully intertwined.
As Deborah begins to wind down her interior design career, she has turned her focus toward representing her husband, Jonathan D. Wallace, whose recent work reflects a lifetime of artistic dedication. In 2023, she began production on a documentary chronicling Jonathan’s life and artistic legacy.
With over three decades of experience curating visual environments, Deborah brings a unique perspective to art-focused projects. Her eye for detail and intuitive sense of visual harmony make her a valuable collaborator for galleries, institutions, and public spaces.
